Personalized Services
-
Grief deserves to be witnessed, not fixed, not rushed. Whether I meet you for one-on-one grief companioning, or support for the whole family, I offer a compassionate space for your grief to be expressed authentically, tended to and honoured.
-
I help families create a plan for sharing vigil- coordinating time at the bedside in a way that honours their loved one’s wishes and allows family and friends be present in a meaningful way. I also offer respite, allowing time for you and your support system to tend to your own needs, knowing that your loved one is in good hands and not alone.
-
Far more than getting you affairs in order, advanced planning is an in-depth look into who you are, what you value, your legacy, your final wishes as well as practical matters like wills and finances. I can guide you in a reflective process leaving you feeling prepared and understood.
-
I am a certified Funeral Celebrant, in good standing with the Funeral Celebrants of Canada. I am honored that you would consider myself to facilitate your loved ones service. Whether it be graveside, in your place of worship, in nature or the comfort of your home, I can create a meaningful atmosphere where we can celebrate the life of your dear one.
“Grief is visceral, not reasonable: the howling at the center of grief is raw and real. It is love in it’s most wild form.”
No one should go through this alone.
Let’s talk.
I offer a free 1 hour consultation to anyone who is considering working with me as an End of life doula or Funeral Celebrant.
Testimonials

“Brittany walked alongside me after the sudden loss of my son a couple years ago. She was exactly the kind of person I needed during that intense season of grief. She listened, cried with me, and helped me navigate the complex feelings brought on by the death of an infant. In every moment, I could tell she cared deeply for me. She has a gift for creating a 'come as you are' atmosphere. I never felt self-conscious or uncertain about whether or not I could express my feelings honestly. I always felt seen by her, as she met me in my grief, all while honouring my son's memory.
I appreciated that she often offered me helpful resources and was eager to connect me to services that could be helpful. She has continued to be an influential part of my grief journey. I pray that everyone in the depths of loss could experience someone supporting them in the way I was by Brittany.”

“When my husband John was in hospice with cancer, Brittany walked beside all three of us. John, our seven-year-old daughter Grace, and me. The move from caring for John at home to hospice was the hardest turn in our journey, and Brittany helped carry the weight of those weeks so we could spend them with each other instead of bracing for what was coming. She didn’t offer comfort in the abstract. She met us exactly where we were. She showed up with food without being asked.
She was steady when I wasn’t, and she was steady for Grace, who needed someone to help her understand where her dad was going and why. She planned a surprise tenth anniversary celebration for John and me on the hospice grounds, a moment I never expected we would get. That took thinking through every detail, down to how to get John outside in a wheelchair and how to make it feel like a celebration and not a goodbye. It became one of the most precious memories of my life.
She did the same for Grace. John spent his career in the movie industry, and our family movie nights were how we connected when things were hard. Brittany understood that, and alongside the hospice team she turned a common room into a real cinema with bean bag chairs, blankets, theater popcorn, and Grace’s favourite film on the screen. Over thirty of the people we love came.
Brittany finds the moments that still matter and makes them possible. I will be grateful to her for the rest of my life.”

“Brittany has a calm gentle presence that brings comfort during times of deep vulnerability. She has an intuitive way of being with people, listening, holding space, and simply being present with families in their final moments. This presence has brought immense comfort to many families anticipating anticipatory grief and loss. Britt brings authenticity, emotional maturity and a true calling to this work.
